Scary comedies, although they employ clichés, have a way of being unpredictable. There is something unnerving and satisfying about laughing one moment and peeking through your fingers the next, with humor and horror often working in tandem. In film, Abbott and Costello made horror comedies for perhaps the first time with their crossovers with famous Universal monsters beginning in the 1940s. Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett ( Scream, Ready or Not ), are both back behind the camera for the upcoming Scream movie, which doesn’t yet have an official title. In the brand new movie, “The Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.” Ortega had previously told ET Online that Scream 6 features “probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we’ve ever seen,” which lines up with these new comments. You know, it’s nice because there’s still a protectiveness in the script and that’s something that the actors had naturally over her because obviously we respect her and we want the best for her. She continues, “But it’s very clear, like, there’s references to Sidney, of course. But I will say there’s so much going on in this next one, that it’s so action-heavy and so gore-heavy that I think you’re gonna be distracted almost.” Ortega tells the outlet, “I feel like I can’t really speak too much on that just because it’s not necessarily my character. Neve Campbell, last we heard, will NOT be coming back for Scream 6. Speaking with ET Online this week, Ortega teases what we can expect from the upcoming sixth installment in the franchise, while also touching upon its handling of Sidney Prescott. Ghostface and the gang return to theaters on Mawith the release of Scream 6, and among the returning cast is Scream 2022 star Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”). Over 20 years after the release of the film, Hayek recalls how she landed the role in a chat with Yahoo: One of the most memorable scenes in From Dusk Till Dawn saw a bikini-clad Salma Hayek dance around on stage as sexy snake-whisperer Santanico Pandemonium. It’s part crime thriller, part vampire flick, and it’s one of the very best horror films to come out of the decade that’s often considered be the genre’s all around worst. Tarantino of course co-wrote (and starred in) the Robert Rodriguez-directed From Dusk Till Dawn, which feels very much like, well, a Quentin Tarantino horror movie. Movie fans are often begging for Quentin Tarantino to make a horror movie, but we kind of already got one way back in 1996. Can you believe it’s already been over 20 years? ![]()
